Today's Happy Hour post is going to be a little different. One, I can't believe this is already the forth one of these posts! Y'all, the blog has been live for almost a month now and I can't tell you how much your support means to me. Yesterday I was freaking out a little bit about what I was actually going to write for this post, since I had no one to take pictures of me this week due to Justin being at home in Alaska for a few weeks.
Much to my surprise, I came home to a VERY large pile of mail at the door of my apartment. Huge thanks to the mail people who stacked it nicely for me. Small side note, I purchased all of this myself but their may be some affiliate links included in this post. The mail I was most excited about? My picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finally rolled in!
I know, it looks like a lot but hear me out. Nordstrom sent me three separate boxes and Amazon is notorious for sending boxes that are three times the size of what you actually bought. Anyways, I'm excited to share some of my most recent purchases with y'all so let's get started!
How freaking cute are these dog bandanas? A fellow Army wife just opened her own shop on Etsy and I could not wait to get my hands on these babies! They are seriously so cute and the best part is they slide over you're dog's collar so no more worrying about how long the bandana is actually going to stay on! You know I'll be blowing up Instagram with cute dog pics once their new collars come in. I can't wait to order more!
The thing I'm probably most excited about in this blogger mail haul is my box from Smile Direct Club. Smile Direct Club is an affordable way to get invisible aligners sent right to your door, no dentist visits required! I can't wait to see if I'm a candidate for these and to get started on my road to a straighter smile. I have always hated my smile and it's honestly the one thing I would change about myself in an instant. Let me know if you'd like to see a full post on my Smile Direct Club experience! The other two items in this photo are from Amazon (bless up for Prime). I made a somewhat spur-of-the-moment decision to attend HerConference this year in NYC and knew from past experiences that I would need a few things: a portable charger and an extra battery for the vlog camera. The great thing about this portable charger is that it can charge my iPhone 6s up to 3.5 full charges without needing to be recharged itself! I also like this portable charger in particular because it came with a small bag for storing the battery as well as a charging cable. The extra vlog camera battery is a must because you never know how much footage you're going to shoot in one day. This is actually my third one but I've somehow managed to loose the other one...
I know y'all are probably sick to death of hearing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale but you know what? Today is public access day! That means you can snag any of these goodies yourself (that aren't already sold out). The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to stock up on essential pieces for the fall and winter and that's exactly what I did. I picked each piece with intent because I'm trying out this new thing where I have a set style and I don't just buy everything I want... I'm completely overhauling my wardrobe so look for a Closet Clean Out series to be coming at ya real soon.
Y'all, I'm obsessed with this trench coat from Michael Kors. I have been wanting to invest in one for a while and honestly figured I would just end up sending it back but once I tried it on, it was like a match made in heaven! I'm very petite (4'11") but also curvy so finding petite and curve friendly pieces is a challenge for me. I ordered a petite small and it fits absolutely perfectly, hips and all! The stripped shirt next to it is from Two by Vince Cumuto and I knew I had to have it the moment I laid eyes on it. It's super soft and sheer without being too revealing. I purchased a Small but it does run VERY big. I should have gotten an XS. Unfortunately, the XS is all sold out so I will be keeping the larger size. It will still be perfect layered with a chunky cardigan and a scarf over leggings and boots!
I lovelovelove this graphic tee from J.Crew. It says "Pardon My French" which has always been a hilarious joke to me after 4 semesters of studying French (I'm absolutely terrible at it). The graphic tee I purchased in a Small for a more fitted look. If you're into tying up your graphic tees, I suggest sizing up (though I believe this item is currently sold out). I also stocked up on a second pair of the Zella Live In Leggings. Ladies, if you're like me and love wearing leggings and riding boots in the fall and winter (literally almost all I wear) then these leggings will live up to their name. I purchased them in a Small due to the fact that my Mediums from last year are a little big at the waist. I honestly should have checked the sizing before purchasing but the great thing about shopping on Nordstrom's website is that they tell you how the sizing runs and what suggested size you should order based on what you typically wear.
Keeping on the fall trend, I picked up two different sweaters. The first cream/tan one is from Free People and is actually the first Free People thing I've ever bought. I initially didn't like it when I pulled it out of the box (for some reason, I though it was going to be gold laced) but once I had it on, I instantly fell in love! The cut is super flattering and it's the perfect chunky knit for fall and winter! I purchased a Small but for an oversized look, order one size up. The next sweater is this little gray sweater from BP which is currently on sale for $25! I couldn't believe it! It's the softest material and super flattering as well. I ordered a Small but it's a little big, I could've easily taken an XS. I can't wait to layer this with a big blanket scarf!
Finally, I snagged this adorable pair of Kendra Scott earrings. This is my first pair and I absolutely can't wait to wear them! These are going to be great for all of the events Justin and I have coming up and I'm planning on wearing them for an upcoming military banquet so stay tuned for that look coming to the blog in a few weeks!
